The Sustainable Development Goals in the strategic planning of a Venezuelan university

Keywords: evaluation of university sustainability, strategic planning, tools, sustainable development goals

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify and relate the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the higher education strategic planning process. The Simón Bolívar University and its Strategic Development Plan were selected as a case study. As part of the methodological process, an evaluation tool was designed that would allow, from the collection and categorization, to reconstruct the information and interpret the relationship between the variables and parameters defined as units of analysis. The research responds to the quantitative approach, using documentary observation and content analysis to understand the subject study. It is concluded little presence, visibility and disparity of the SDGs, in addition to institutional planning does not respond to the commitments with the 2030 Agenda, nor are they a response to meet the guidelines that represent the challenges of the millenium.
