Brazilian Encyclopedia of Higher Education: Theoretical-methodological constructions and knowledge networks

Abstract

This article aims to present the construction of the Brazilian Encyclopedia of Higher Education, reflecting on the theoretical and methodological paths that supported this production. The first topic seeks to analyse the theoretical-methodological foundation that constituted the other Encyclopedias of the South Brazilian Network of Higher Education Researchers, which served as inspiration for the new document; the second topic addresses the phases and cycles of the methodological design for the encyclopedia, sharing conceptions and ideas, as well as its theoretical scope from the expertise of its authors/researchers; the third topic deals with the movements for conceptual construction: the themes and their unfolding, presenting the narratives of the processes and paths followed; in the last topic the authors expressed themselves about the process of personal construction of the chapter produced. This implied demonstrating the movements carried out for its consecutive, as well as its relevance to qualify the field of knowledge. Finally, it is observed that the explicit contributions reinforce the importance of the dialogue established through shared activities throughout its production. This served as a motto for generating new learning, as well as favouring the consolidation and qualification of the conceptual field that supports the debate about higher education.

Award Researcher for the Education area 2021/FAPERGS. Coordinator of the Education Observatory for Quality in Higher Education/ joint research program CAPES/UTEXAS/CEES (2006 - 2012) Quality in Higher Education; and coordinator of the Network CEES/PUCRS - School of Education /Newcastle University/CAPES-PrInt. Coord. and member of the Advisory Committee of International Cooperation FAPERGS (2008 - 2012) and member CA Education and Psychology (2004-2019). Member of LASA - Latin American Studies Association. Member representing the Human Sciences area at CTAA/ INEP/ MEC (2006-2012). Participates in international projects IAU/UNESCO/CNPq/CAPES/UTexas; CPLP: INNOVACESAL (EU), ACRO; Alfa-Guia (EU); Newcastle (British Council); NEIES/Mercosul; COALAR/AU. She was director of the Faculty of Education at PUCRS and Coordinator of the PPGEDu (2011 - 2012). She advises I.C., Master's, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral.

Doris Pires Vargas Bolzan, Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM), Santa Maria, Brasil

PhD in Education from UFRGS. Research Productivity Scholarship by CNPq. Full Professor at UFSM, with the Department of Teaching Methodology and the Graduate Programs in Education and Public Policy and Educational Management. Research lines: Teaching, Knowledge and Professional Development (PPGE) and Educational Management and Pedagogical Practices (PPGestão). Institutional representation of UFSM in the Programs of Educational Policies and Linguistic Policies - AUGM's Integration Education Center. Member of the South Brazilian Network for Higher Education (RIES) Member of the Latin American Studies Association (LASA). Scientific editor of national journals, reviewer of national and international journals.

Marilene Gabriel DALLACORTE , Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM), Santa Maria, Brasil

Post-Doctorate (CNPq) and PhD in Education from PUCRS. Associate Professor at the Education Center of UFSM, in the Graduate Program in Public Policy and Educational Management (PPPG/UFSM) and in the Graduate Program in Education. Leader of the Group of Studies and Research in Public Policy and Educational Management (GESTAR/CNPq). Researcher with "PRONEX - Higher Education and Emerging Contexts", held in the scope of the South Brazilian Network of Higher Education Researchers (RIES). Scientific Editor of the Brazilian Encyclopedia of Higher Education-EBES. Director of the Education Center at the Federal University of Santa Maria.
