Abstract

This study is based on the University Entrepreneurial Orientation model. Its objective is to identify how undergraduate students in Mexico perceive the management of innovative entrepreneurship within their university ecosystem. Public state universities in the country were divided into three regions, and this part presents the second progress report with results from the central region, which includes thirteen public state universities where a survey was conducted among 398 students. The findings indicate that, in this region, the management of student entrepreneurship promotion aligns with the University Entrepreneurial Orientation model. This alignment is reflected in the mobilization of research results through the encouragement of researcher participation, the management of actions to identify research opportunities, funding, and collaboration outside the university. Additionally, the universities are connected to industry, as well as the private and public sectors. Institutional policies are designed and implemented to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, multidisciplinary approaches to entrepreneurial projects are encouraged, and finally, university leaders demonstrate a willingness to motivate and foster an ideal environment to carry out these actions.
