Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission (manuscript) has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted for consideration for publication in any other journal.
- The author/s are responsible for its content and for having contributed to the conception, design and realization of the article, analysis and interpretation of data, and for having participated in the drafting of the text and its revisions, as well as in the approval of the version that is finally submitted.
- Text is single spaced. 12 point font size. Italics are used instead of underlining (except in URLs), and all illustrations, figures and tables are placed in the appropriate places in the text, rather than at the end.
- The text may not exceed 8000 words, including abstract, bibliography, tables and figures; and adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements summarized in the author’s Guidelines, which appear in About the Journal.
- This article will be reviewed by external reviewers, using the double-blind peer review system. The article must be anonymized in all its sections, according to ESS regulations.
- The submission file is in Microsoft Word format (for PC). Whenever possible, URLs are provided for references.
- Changes in the content of the manuscript, if necessary after review, and changes in the style of the manuscript by the ESS Editor are accepted.
- The author(s) declares that he/she/they are aware of and accept the author guidelines of the Journal ESS.
- The authors retain the copyright to the work(s) published in ESS as first publication, and ESS encourages and permits reuse of the publication under the Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.
- The author(s) declares to be free of any personal or commercial association(s) that may involve a conflict of interest in connection with the article submitted, as well as to have respected the principles of ethics in the research process.
- Yes, I consent to my data being collected and stored in accordance with the policy statement.
Articles Thematic Dossier A
The articles in the thematic dossiers are one of the three types of sections through which original articles are received by the Journal. Here, manuscripts are collected that address a specific topic of higher education, established by an open call for papers. They are coordinated by one or more persons, as Guest Editor(s), who are responsible for the proposal of the papers and which will be subsequently evaluated for publication. The Editorial Board of ESS evaluates the contribution proposals received and establishes the appropriate planning of these. General section articles
The articles in the general section refer to contributions that report on the progress of research in different thematic areas of higher education, established by an open call for papers. The Editorial Board of ESS evaluates the proposals for contributions that have arrived and establishes the appropriate planning for them. They may be coordinated by one or more persons, as Guest Editor(s) who are responsible for the organization of the section. Articles of special issues
3) Articles of special issues
They collect studies and/or research articles that address topics related to higher education and its links, similar to the regular thematic volumes; but with an emphasis on a particular topic according to the corresponding call.
