The evolution of educational planning in the context of Latin America
Abstract
The purpose of this essay is to review the evolution of the notion of educational planning in the Latin American context, from its inception in the decade of the fifties to actual times. Analysis is done through publications where authors have made explicit their concepts about the discipline when related to educational policies. The work is divided into four sections: origins of educational planning, the educationalist optimism, the disenchantment of education, towards a new educational planning; the essay ends with a recapitulation that brings about the main features of its evolution.
