Open access policy

Open access policy

This journal is open access, which means that all the content is freely available to the user or his institution, based on the principle that making research freely available favors a greater global exchange of knowledge. For this reason, since ESS is free, at no time does it apply any type of charge or fee to the authors: neither for the submission of their work, nor for the editorial processing (APC), nor for the publication of their articles. Its contents are distributed under the Creative Commons license Attribution/Recognition-NonCommercial 4.0 International. Thus, users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without seeking prior permission from the publisher or the author, giving credit properly by citing the author.

The full type of license used, Creative Commons Attribution/NonCommercial-Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-4.0) can be found at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/ .

ESS Journal requires authors to accept the copyright notice as part of the submission process, which states that authors retain all rights.

With these approaches, the journal clearly assumes the Open Access (OAI) policies, in line with the principles of access and free exchange of knowledge, promoted by the international movements contained in the Declarations of Budapest, Bethesda, and Berlin, among others.
