Mapping a new multimodal territory for veterinary education
Abstract
Digital transformation is leading to new horizons in teaching and university management. The COVID 19 pandemic has driven institutions to virtualize work, administrative and academic processes as never before. It was necessary, however, to cross maps that still did not exist, in a new territory plagued with uncertainty. The University of Buenos Aires Veterinary School was able to absorb the impact, once the surprise event that prevented a return to face-to-face teaching had passed, because many professorships were working on the combination of the virtual and face-to-face worlds, so it was quickly able to respond to the students' needs. Institutional policies accompanied the acceleration of these processes in such a way that, in the face of the extreme need, the teaching of classes was not affected. The experience was an opportunity for learning, improvement and consolidation of processes already in place. The academic decisions, the strategies developed, the results and the strategic planning process designed for the future are presented as a contribution to Higher Education institutions. To evaluate the actions carried out, a survey of teachers is incorporated, a base line for future projects with technologies. with technologies.
