Abstract
The notion of "Global Citizenship" and "Intercultural Competences" have gained a central place in the international discourse about educational priorities for development, especially in the United Nations. Therefore, it is appropriate to analyze these concepts within the framework of Strategic Planning in Higher Education. Thus, in this article we present a theoretical development and a descriptive analysis of the programs and projects related to Education for Global Citizenship and Intercultural Competences that are included in the strategic plans of three Argentine national universities: the Strategic Plan of the National University of the South (2011 - 2016 - 2026), Strategic Institutional Plan of the National University of the Coast (2020-2029) and Strategic Plan 2030 National University of Cuyo. The choice of these universities responds to the fact that they are three of the seven oldest national universities in the country and represent different geographical regions and they are members of different Regional Councils for Higher Education Planning. The article begins with a brief historical evolution and definition of the concepts of Education for Global Citizenship and Intercultural Competences, as well as the definition of "strategic planning", to then delve into the specific analysis of the Strategic Plans under study. The research concludes and verifies the existence within the analyzed Strategic Plans of various objectives or programs related to Education for Global Citizenship and Intercultural Competences, and the importance that these university institutions give to these concepts within of your strategic planning.
