Foreword
Abstract
In this foreword, Francesc Pedró, Director of UNESCO IESALC, indicates that the occasion not only merits celebrating the uninterrupted work of these three decades of ESS, but also reaffirms the commitment to research: "At the Institute we are convinced that the journal must be an instrument at the service of the horizon of a global higher education, with transnational networks of exchanges, with multiple poles, which contribute to nurturing multilateralism and increasing regional cooperation. This is the only recipe that will allow us to advance not only towards the objectives of sustainable development but, ultimately, towards a horizon of peace, sustainable progress and well-being with equity for all people, which is, in essence, what an organization like UNESCO, which sponsors this journal, pursues".
