Educación superior e interculturalidad en México: modalidades,desafíos y recomendaciones

Abstract

En este artículo se exponen las modalida­des de Educación Superior Intercultural (ESI) en México, con el fin de identificar los desafíos existentes en este campo emergente de Educación Superior, y pun­tear algunas recomendaciones. La infor­mación que se presenta es resultado de la investigación doctoral que estoy reali­zando, que implicó revisión documental sobre el tema así como entrevistas y ob­servaciones en algunas de las experien­cias descritas. Se concluye que si bien la existencia de estas modalidades de ESI han ampliado el número de estudiantes indígenas en Educación Superior, se re­quiere incorporar cambios de fondo en las instituciones para avanzar en prác­ticas no folklorizantes que partan del “pluralismo epistemológico” (Olivé, 2013) y contribuyan a consolidar “modalidades sostenibles de colaboración intercultural” (Mato, 2016).

Integrante de la Red Internacional de Investigado­res Asociados del Programa Educación Superior y Pueblos Indígenas y Afrodes­cendientes en América Latina (Programa ESIAL, UNTREF).
