Author Biography

Francesc Pedro, UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO IESALC), Caracas, Venezuela

Since May 2019, he is Director of UNESCO IESALC. Previously, since 2010, he led the education policy advisory service, including national policy reviews as well as international comparative studies in the education sector at UNESCO in Paris (France). Previously, he worked at the OECD's Centre for Educational Research and Innovation (CERI) as a senior policy analyst, responsible for relevant projects. He is professor of comparative education policy in the department of political science at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), was previously vice-rector of educational research and innovation at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Barcelona) and his publications include books and articles in the area of education, educational technology, pedagogy, learning, policy analysis and comparative higher education.
