Abstract
La Conferencia Mundial sobre la Ciencia
Convocada por la UNESCO, como parte de su extraordinaria serie de grandes cónclaves mundiales de fin de siglo, se está llevando a cabo en Budapest, (Hungría), del 26 de julio al 1 de julio, la Conferencia Mundial sobre la Ciencia, cuyo lema es "La Ciencia para el siglo XXI: un Nuevo Compromiso". En la misma participan más de 2000 representantes del mundo entero, entre científicos, profesores, académicos e investigadores, incluyendo 100 Ministros y Secretarios de Estado encargados de la Ciencia, o Presidentes de Consejos Nacionales de Ciencia y Tecnología, que representan a 150 Estados Miembros de la UNESCO; así como las asociaciones científicas adheridas al prestigioso Consejo Internacional para la Ciencia (ICSU), que copatrocina la reunión, 170 organizaciones no gubernamentales y agencias del sistema de las Naciones Unidas.
