Abstract
O texto enfoca os desafios a que estao submetidos os gestores das instituicoes de ensino superior neste final de século, face as exigencias de novos paradigmas para o fazer academico.
Ressalta a importancia das discussi5es realizadas por ocasiao das Conferencias Regionais preparatórias a grande discussao levada a efeito na Conferencia Mundial de Ensino Superior, e aponta estratégias que deverao estar direcionando o pensamento e a anao das instituices universitárias, comprometidas com a construcao de uma nova Cultura. Urna cultura que tenha o Homem como centro de suas atencoes.
